Immenso. Per chi non lo sapesse Nightfall in Middle-Earth è un album dei Blind Guardian del 1998, potentissimo, fantastico, dalle liriche ispiratissime e tratte dal Simarillon di J.R.R. Tolkien. Per quel che mi riguarda, è immancabile.

Ogni canzone è un delirio, almeno per me. Sarà che ci rivedo le storie, sarà la melodia avvincente, saranno i cori riuscitissimi. Un’emozione che non mi molla fino all’ultimo brano.

Cmq, in questo giro di metal folle – fra i trapani e gli scalpelli dei muratori vicini – ho rimesso su Battalions of Fear, sicuramente uno dei dischi che ho meno ascoltato dei Blind.

Beh, indubbiamente non è il mio disco preferito, ma alcuni pezzi sono esagerati. E poi si sente molto l’orgine tedesca e la gioventù della band… Simpatico da risentire, ogni tanto.

E’ uscito il nuovo disco dei Blind Guardian, A Twist in the Myth.

Non so ancora se prenderlo – visto quel che costa e visto che lo stile è cambiato tanto dai vecchi Nightfall in Middle Earth e Imagination from the Other Side. Sembrano aver abbandonato le ballate lunghe e le orchestre pesanti (con Night at the Opera si era raggiunto l’apice… e forse si aveva anche un po’ esagerato).

Non so, ci penserò su. Certo è che ad ascoltarli così torna voglia di riascoltare Nightfall ed il mitico Mirror mirror… Ahhh, che tempi.
